"All Bad Things Must Come To An End"

One of the most well known drama television shows has come to end. The TV series Breaking Bad takes you into the life of a normal chemistry teacher who is transformed into this manipulative, savage, drug lord, after being diagnosed with lung cancer. After five intense seasons the season finale premiered in September 2013, tying up all loose ends and leaving all fans very satisfied with the ending. The last episode was everything every Breaking Bad fanatic could have asked for. Most
amateur TV series would end the show with a cliffhanger, leaving it up to the audiences to interpreate what happens next to their beloved characters, but not Breaking Bad. Although the finale might have been somewhat predictable the show couldn’t have ended in a better way. Walt finally figures out the solution to his problem of not only getting his money to his family but also having them accept it and all while plotting an elaborate plan to finally take revenge on the people who wronged him. In an attempt to stop Uncle Jack and his crew from cooking and distributing the meth formula Walt had created himself to become the infamous Heisenberg, he runs into his long-time partner Jesse, who has been kept in captivity thanks to Walt. This intense face-to-face interaction between Walt and Jesse after everything they have been through was a much-needed powerful scene, something I’m sure all fans were waiting for. After Walt sets of his hand made gun machine, massacring everyone and saving Jesse from being hit, he gives Jesse the opportunity to kill him. A very big surprise to most, seeing how this was probably the least selfish thing Walt has done throughout the entire series. After noticing Walt had been hit with one of his own bullets Jesse drops the gun and drives off with tear filled eyes. Arguably one of the most gratifying moments of the episode as you see Jesses face become relieved and in a way filled with joy, he is finally free not only from the cage he has been living in but also from the control of Walt. Although Walt dying from his own bullet is probably the most ironic aspect of the series I found it to be completely appropriate and satisfying.
The last scene where Walt is in his sanctuary, the place he knows best you see the disappointment come over him because at that moment he finally realized what is was in life he loved most. He had continuously used his family as a justification for all his choices and actions throughout the entirety of the series. Whether is was conscious or unconscious he had actually convinced himself that all the meth he cooked, all the people he killed, and all the lying and sabotaging he had done was all for his family. It was at that moment that he finally understood that had become a greedy man and was only in it for him self. Not only do I believe this series finale will be talked about for quite a while but Breaking Bad as a whole will be considered one of the best drama filled television shows for some time.
